The future of agriculture depends on how well we support the people who make it possible – and that’s where our work as a cooperative begins.

The future of agriculture depends on how well we support the people who make it possible – and that’s where our work as a cooperative begins. I am Seth Stephens, the new General Manager of United Ag. It is an honor to step into the role of General Manager and join both our employees and our membership in shaping the future of our company. As we embark on this new chapter, I am energized by the incredible talent, passion, and potential within our organization. My vision is to build on our strong foundation, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and purpose.

In my first issue, I want to share a bit about my journey to United Ag, introduce my family, and share a little about what drives me. I graduated from Texas A&M in May of 2012 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Economics. In 2013, I married my wife, Caitlin, and we began our lives together in rural west Texas. We have an 8-year-old son, Walker, and a 6-year-old daughter, Everly. If you were at the annual meeting, there’s a good chance you heard a few of their jokes. My family is very excited to start this new chapter of our lives in El Campo. We look forward to all of the ball games, friendships, and experiences that will shape our lives for years to come.

Following my graduation from Texas A&M, I began my career in 2012 as an intern with Producers Cooperative Elevator in Floydada, Texas. It was during this time I learned about boot pits, sour grain, and the value of a good pair of gloves to help with the blisters. My eyes were opened to the world of production agriculture and the impact that it made in our local economy as well as economies across the state. In January of 2014, I was hired as the General Manager. During my tenure at Producers Cooperative, we focused on customer service, diversification, and strengthening our infrastructure. We built a great business with an amazing team and I wish them all the best.

I am thrilled about the boundless opportunities that lie ahead. The future of our industry is bright, driven by innovation, sustainability, and a commitment to excellence. Our team is energized by the potential to not only meet the growing demand for quality service, but to redefine what is possible in a Cooperative. We are ready to meet the challenges ahead.

Infrastructure is a cornerstone of this exciting journey. Our robust portfolio of modern assets from retail to cotton, to grain to bagging, allow us to maintain the highest standards of quality while minimizing downtime. This strong foundation empowers us to scale our operations confidently, adapt to changing conditions, and deliver exceptional service to our customers, no matter the circumstance.

I am committed to strengthening an already solid company to ensure our continued relevance in the agricultural industry for years to come. Our true strength lies in our members and their dedication to the cooperative. We must leverage our competitive advantage and scale for our membership’s benefit. I look forward to working through our divisions to ensure we are serving our members in the best and most efficient way possible. I will look for new opportunities for our company that will add to the value and services we provide. We will work tirelessly to deliver quality service at competitive prices — and if we fall short, I encourage you to let me know.

As we look to the future, I remain committed to making sure our cooperative remains rooted in what matters most: the success of our members. I am so grateful for the trust placed in me and our team. Whether it is navigating changing complex markets, investing in infrastructure, or stocking items you need, I am honored to be in it with you. Here’s to a strong upcoming season, and an even stronger future.

Sincerely,
Seth A. Stephens
